Which are the biggest ‘ships in fandom? On Monday, The Daily Dot posed this question. Today, I have answers about the most common relationships on AO3. (with a healthy dose of caveats, as usual!)
Biggest caveat: this isn’t a good metric of how the size or intensity of a ship’s fanbase. There are various reasons I discuss below. This is only a good metric for the current state of what’s most common on AO3 in August 2013.
Also interesting to note (though, as is explained in this post, is not necessarily an accurate indicator of ship popularity overall): of the top 10 stories with the most kudos, 7 are Derek/Stiles. And, of the top 20 stories with the most kudos, 15 are Derek/Stiles.
