so… not only do they keep your photos on file indefinitely, they also can sell them at any time for any reason they see fit – which means that your friends or family members or even future employers could see you marketing any number of things, against your will. you could be used to market pornographic sites. your image could be fucking ruined, through no fault of your own.
please please PLEASE pass this on to everyone you know, especially if you know that they use snapchat or someone they know does. this information is IMPORTANT. lives could be ruined, here.

A quick google search of the author turns up he’s an anti-sex evangelical church pastor. Also the article is almost entirely fear mongering and deliberate misrepresentation of facts. He basically states that you should be afraid of snapchat because they’re saving your pics and could sell them. They’re not and they can’t. If they ever tried if they would be destroyed in court.
As far as controlling who sees what, no method is flawless. For people in long distance or online relationships, snapchat seems far superior to most other options.
Are it’s creators douche bags? Seems like it. It’s (primarily) a sexting app, are we surprised? Also if we’re going to be picky Disney was a NAZI and most people still love Mickey Mouse.
Consenting adults do whatever the fuck you want and don’t let anyone make you feel shitty for it.
