i love when straight people think that a gay character being included “without it even being a thing“ (e.g. dumbledore) is this perfect progressive representation. it makes sense because thats how they want me: silent, complacent, closeted. u want me to be a nearly invisible optional easter egg bonus in the disney princess movie of ur life

i remember reading this the first time, and being, like, legitimately freaked the fuck out by this

i mean, i’d never read a story before where the story itself fucking breaks

i was still catching up at that point, so i knew there was still more of the story to come, but i had absolutely no idea what to expect, what was happening

(so when scratch eventually took over, in like three pages, i was… dumbstruck. floored. it may be part of why that’s my favourite section of the comic: it isn’t just a simple shocker twist like the end of a5a1, it was… hell, is, the breaking of the chosen medium of storytelling. it’s so grand, and so well done! and the section is basically an infodump, but it really doesn’t feel like that at all. it’s alien history! worldbuilding! aaaaaaaa!!!)

Oh my god I could write an entire paper on the dynamics of Homestuck’s groundbreaking storytelling techniques via webcomic format

Please do so, and then send it to me so I can read it with great excitement
