goddang guess I’ll throw my two cents in.

I’m biased in this situation already i.e. I’ve stated multiple times before of my dislike of Dex. This time I’m going in clean. I watched his video, I gave myself time to think before I type, I considered similar incidents. And I’m gonna say that there’s no easy answer. Part of me thinks Dex is doing this for the Drama. Because listen, yes The Creatures ARE a business. Just like Rooster Teeth and Funhaus and Game Grumps. Yes, youtubers WILL act much differently on camera. Michael Jones is not just a ball of angry rage. The funhaus guys are very dedicated and serious when it comes to work. Youtubers are not one dimensional characters.

Most of Dex’s grief in his vid comes from not being able to deal with fans calling him out on acting unprofessional/dealing with the consequences. He’s insulted underage girls multiple times. He was censored for a reason.

There’s another part of me giving him the benefit of doubt. Maybe the guys did take advantage of their “boss” status. Maybe he was rebuked when he got drunk on his own social time.

Tldr: No duh ppl act differently off camera, I don’t trust Dex 100%, this feels like a high school lunchroom drama fight.

remember when James did blackface for that one skit and fandom reaction caused the Creatures to take the video down and issue an apology? And James posted that he didn’t know the context of blackface yet still apologized?

lmao I can watch/like whatever I want and still criticize certain aspects of it. It’s called being a critical fan and it’s better then being a mindless stan who’ll excuse anything their Fave says/does no matter how shitty.

He is, and I’m sorry if he’s receiving any unsavory messages. People make mistakes, but this is the third time Dex threw a twitter tantrum because of what a fan said. He’s a grown ass man mocking teen girls over their appearances. This can’t just fly.

This is like the third time Dex insulted a fan and stirred up a lot of drama….

I’m not a fan of his but I was willing to give him a chance….. way back when he just joined the creatures. but dang how many times can this happen and ppl will just let it slide.

He can say and joke about whatever but he’s gotta learn that Consequences will follow.

nnNNNN not really?? he’s definitely not my favorite, that’s for sure. and part of me will always view him in a negative light because of that joke he made BUT. I’ll eventually get used to him. I just wish ppl realized just how terrible that joke was and not defend it………

I know excuses are excuses, but seriously. You can go to the English equivalence of a middle school and they make offensive jokes like that all the time. It sounds horrible, but it’s normal for them.

mmm here’s my thoughts: the dead baby jokes were obnoxious, but nothing too surprising. I feel like Dex already explained the feminist thing, so that’s done. the suicide joke was the final straw for me.

I can understand cultural differences in humor, considering how I was born and raised in a Latino community (which is absolutely riddled in sexist jokes tbh). I’m not gonna excuse my family or friends for their sexism because it hurts. I’m not gonna excuse Dex for the suicide joke just because he’s been raised differently. So was I. Everyone is capable of change.

suicide jokes are not excusable I want to decimate the belief that this type of humor is harmless. you aren’t ~edgy and clever~ you are literally being the worst type of asshole. And the reason people are calling you out in your behavior now is because you’re recently being featured in many of their videos and we’re noticing your problematic behavior when we otherwise wouldn’t.

yes i understand that he is “adapting” or “familiarizing” himself with americans humor and learning to censor himself or whatever (i put this point in here, even if i dont agree with it myself, but a very small part of me does) 

but that is no excuse for what he has said during his times with the creature and without the creatures on twitter or whatever

yes this all could have been avoided if dex did not post these or just apologized genuinely for posting them in the first place but he didnt 

so yeah

he has offended about large majority of the fans
