Alternia is such a wonderful, glorious sandbox and it makes me sad that I so rarely see its potential put to good use.

What do we know about it in canon?

There’s vast stretches of eastern desert.

Dramatic cliffs and canyons.

Forests of beautifully colourful trees.

Deep oceans teeming with all manner of cuttlefish and aquatic hoofbeasts.

Rolling verdant plains and fields.

Long stretches of sandy coastline.

Vast cities full of hives clustered around what might very well be giant plant stems.

Ghost ships with all manner of plunder to offer to the current generation.

Shambling undead.

Deadly musclebeasts.

Dragons

And that’s just what’s canon. We have so much room to build and expand and create.

Maybe there’s swamps, maybe there’s not. Maybe that’s vast fields of icebergs and ice floes that hold ancient shipwrecks ripe for exploring, maybe there’s not.

There could be large, boiling hot subterranean lakes.

There could be snowy mountain ranges peppered with coniferous trees every bit as colourful as the deciduous ones of Terezi’s forest.

I just love this goddamn planet and how cool all of it is and how much freedom we have to expand and explore it. I really feel like it’s underappreciated, though.

Troubling revelations from Terezi’s past create conflict, especially when it is revealed that she and Vriska may just have once been partners.

The amount of episodes is a little intimidateing and over the span of only six seasons! But I’m glad I got through it
